Hi, I’m Tricia!

 

I’m a North Dakota–based artist working in oil, acrylic, colored pencil, and pastel. On the daily, you can find me in my studio running on caffeine and starting more projects than I could finish in my lifetime.

 

My work centers on surrealist figurative portraiture, exploring emotion, perception, and the darker, more intuitive side of femininity. Drawn to faces for their ability to hold what words often cannot, my paintings move between refinement and distortion, softness and unease, beauty and tension.

 

My current work is moving toward softer, more atmospheric portraits built through close values, subtle shifts, and layered surfaces. Across both detailed and quieter pieces, the goal remains the same: to create work that is felt before it is fully understood.

 

For me, the emotional response is not secondary to the work.

It is the point.​
